The Kawakita Film Museum, opened in 2010, is located on the site of the former Kawakita Residence in historic Kamakura City, 50 km southwest of Tokyo.The Museum serves the film art community by holding special exhibitions, organizing film screenings, serving the film books and magazines to browse and offering the workshop through the year. The Museum has the Sukiya Style of building, which is specially designed for according with the refined neighborhood. Although it has a fresh look, great care has been taken to maintain the original character of the wood block outside. The exhibition room with the wide-open window is over the Japanese garden.
